I'm a big believer in the power of community and I have been given great support throughout my adventures. So I consider it an honour and duty when I'm invited to speak at events, conferences and panels.

New technology is changing the way that we produce and prototype goods. 3D printers have inspired a new generation of crafters, makers and hackers taking charge of their own production in new and creative ways. This panel will bring together Ottawans thinking about how technology is changing the way we make goods and what this might mean for our local culture and economy.
Builders & Thinkers
If you're a designer, architect, photographer, craftsman or other creative type, come be around other makers and do-ers for a night of talking, thinking and drinking.
We have three amazing local Builders & Thinkers who are going to answer your questions about being creative, running businesses, and their craft.
PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.
Fuckup Nights is a global movement born in Mexico in 2012 to share publicly business failure stories. Hundreds of people attend each event to hear three to four entrepreneurs share their failures. Each speaker is given 7 minutes and is able to use 10 images. After each speaker, there’s a question/answer session, as well as time for networking (beers).
Double Major (Carleton University Art Gallery)
Join Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG) for the seventh installment of our lecture series DOUBLE MAJOR, where we’ll hear from two passionate experts, each speaking for 20 minutes about their subject, after which there will be a Q&A addressing both topics. One speaker is from the Ottawa-Gatineau community, and one is from the Carleton community. DOUBLE MAJOR is a fun and friendly way to stimulate discussion of seemingly disparate topics, and to make new connections between people and ideas. Props encouraged!
